Spirit Whales

I let go of what I expect to see.

When Astaran attuned to this sign he floated in total darkness and heard whale song far away. As the song came closer, enormous whales made of light appeared, with a little girl swimming between them.

He told her he could only see darkness. She said: let go of your expectations and try again. When he did, the darkness turned into a colourful ocean full of life.

The girl helped the whales keep their song going by seeing through what distorted it. The sign came with a playful poem about whales leaping out of the water as if they could fly. Be free, my friend.
